Bibles On DVD has announced a new initiative to send free copies of its DVD Bible to members of the U.S. armed services through the nonprofit group Soldiers' Angels.

Dubbed "Operation DVD Bible," the program calls for Bibles On DVD, a division of The DVD Acquisition and Development Group, to donate a copy of the best-selling Bible on DVD to U.S. troops for every copy purchased before the end of the year.

"DVDs are among the most requested items by our troops," said David Goodman, president of The DVD Acquisition and Development Group.

Lisa Nyberg, chief financial officer of Soldiers' Angels, added: "We are very excited about Operation DVD Bible. We have the ability to package and ship the donated DVDs, and we have points of contact at military installations all over the world."

Featuring award-winning narrators, including Stephen Johnston, Max McLean and Alexander Scourby, the Bible on DVD features the entire Old and New Testament with on-screen scripture synchronized with an audio narration as well as a Holy Land tour photo presentation.

The Bible on DVD is available at Christian bookstores and general market retailers. For more information, visit www.biblesondvd.com.
