Howard, who joined the company in 1999 as the director of special projects, is the author of seven books, which have sold more than 700,000 copies, including Hugs for Grandma and Snips and Snails. In her new role, Howard, who has edited numerous gift books for the company, will be responsible for gift book acquisitions as well as directing and overseeing the design of all Howard book covers. Howard Books also announced the addition of Kathryn Turney as sales manager of gift and special markets. Turney, who has had 21 years of experience in the gift industry, worked for Thomas Nelson from 2000-2003 and owned her own consulting company.
“Her people skills, along with her organizational skills, will serve Howard well as she embarks to manage the over 200 independent gift reps that serve Howard across the country,” said Gary Myers, vice president and director of sales.
