Bookstore Manager launched a traveling training program during the third annual Gathering of Church Bookstores, held April 18-21at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Bookstore Manager, which provides technology solutions for the Christian retail industry, will offer continuing education training on its software in 14 cities nationwide this spring and during the International Christian Retail Show, set for July 8-12 in Atlanta.

“Historically, we offer our users continuing education training at the winter and summer conventions, but with fewer stores attending each year, it's been hard for stores to stay up on the latest functions,” Bookstore Manager founder Randy Voorhees said. “We do offer training online, but we've found it's really helpful for our users to be in the same room with other stores discussing how to best maximize our software. … We decided to bring it to our users.”

Christian Retailing and its supplement The Church Bookstore are sponsoring the training sessions.

To minimize the amount of time users are out of their stores, sessions will take place each day from noon to 5 p.m., Voorhees said. Sessions are free of charge, but advance registration is required.
