Send the Light (STL) Distribution North America has announced its new Publisher Services model, which will be phased in over the next few months. STL officials said the model will take advantage of the new move to combine product fulfillment through the One Source supply program for retailers.

The program offers “one-stop shopping,” in which retailers can place one order with one supplier, receive one shipment and one invoice, and are provided one address for returns.

As part of the Publisher Services model launch, Larry Carpenter, former general manager of STL/FaithWorks, will be leaving Send the Light on July 31 to form a new marketing consulting firm called Carpenter Consulting, STL officials said.

Carpenter's new business will support the new model by helping publishers navigate the sales and marketing challenges of the Christian retail channel. Carpenter said his “first love has always been working with the publishers to help create and market their products. Under this new model, I can focus on helping the publishers grow their businesses without being held back by the administrative responsibilities of running FaithWorks.”

By combining the product-fulfillment services of the STL divisions-including Appalachian, FaithWorks, Authentic Publishing, Publishing Services, Great Value Books and Homeschool Headquarters-the company will serve as the single-source supplier for more than 120,000 Christian products from more than 600 publishers, company officials said.
