The Bible Society has acquired six Christian Resources Exhibitions (CRE) owned by Resources Exhibitions Ltd., said officials for the England-based charity.

The acquisition will be effective June 1. Founded in 1985, CRE was first staged in London, England, linking church leaders and resource specialists. Gospatric Home, the exhibitions' founder, went on to create a series of identical exhibitions in other locations in England and Scotland, as well as Kampala, Uganda and Sydney, Australia.

“There is a natural synergy between Bible Society and CRE because both are committed to resourcing the church and serving world mission,” Bible Society's Chief Executive James Catford said.

The annual National CRE is set for Surrey, England from May 15-18. The series of Scottish Christian Resources Exhibitions will be held Aug. 9 under the new title NEXUS Scotland 2007 to mark the partnership with the Glasgow Presbyteries of the Church of Scotland, Bible Society said.
