Craig Minor, A&R director for Vital Gospel, a division of Daywind Music Group, died Jan. 9. Minor, 38, suffered from several afflictions, most recently lymphoma, over the last two years, according to Daywind officials.

He worked with gospel recording artists Ann McCrary, Rod McGaha and, most recently, New Harvest. Minor traveled the country as a judge for the Exalting Him talent search and had regular contact with more than 200 bookstores.

“Craig was reverent, joyous, determined, creative and lighthearted,” Ed Leonard, president of Hendersonville, Tenn.-based Daywind, said. “In his business life, he cared so much about his relationships with his buyers, artists and co-workers. He wanted the gospel spread. I will miss my friend.”

Minor is survived by his wife of 13 years, Diane, and daughter, Kayla. Visitation will be held Jan.12 at the Celebration of Life Church in Hendersonville, followed by funeral services. Minor will be buried near his family's home in Virginia.
