Harvest Entertainment Group, a new home-entertainment company based in Miami, has been launched.

Harvest Entertainment Group has announced it will produce three films and two DVD series in its first year as a “production and distribution entity that intends to differentiate itself with movies that will entertain with the kind of values a lot of families in America hunger for,” the company said in a statement.

The first releases from the newly formed company will be The Parable of the Christ, followed by the animated biblical story of Jonah: In the Belly of the Fish and The Foolish Virgin based on the classic novel by Thomas Dixon.

Two animated series also will release: “Huckleberry & Friends” and “Two Crazy Little Frogs.” Children “will not only be entertained, but they will also learn valuable biblical lessons that will be presented in new and creative ways,” Chairman and CEO Arnold Baptiste said in the statement.
