A special family focus will round off the Charisma Book Expo in Atlanta, later this week.

A VeggieTales morning including a premiere of the kids' series forthcoming latest release is expected to help draw a large local crowd for the final day of the combined trade show and celebration, Saturday (Sept. 30).

The exhibition hall at the Georgia International Convention Center will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for visitors to learn about and buy some of the latest Christian resources from around 100 exhibitors. Included in the morning events will be a screening of Gideon: The Tuba Warrior due out in November, and an appearance by LarryBoy.

Open to the general public but also providing special industry-focused events and workshops for retailers and suppliers, the Charisma Book Expo is being staged Sept. 27-30 to celebrate the growth of the charismatic publishing market.

It opens Wednesday night with an evening event featuring music by Judy Jacobs and speaker Zachery Tims. The evening services will be broadcast live by www.streamingfaith.com and recorded for later presentation on the Daystar Television Network.

The expo is preceded Wednesday afternoon by a half-day Church Bookstore Network seminar, addressing the opportunities and challenges presented by the growing church bookstore movement.

The expo is being organized by Strang Communications, publisher of Christian Retailing, along with a group of leading charismatic resource suppliers. For more information visit www.charismabookexpo.com.
