In advance of the upcoming theatrical release of The Da Vinci Code film on May 19, Sony Pictures Entertainment has launched http://www.TheDaVinciChallenge.com, a Web site offering essays by a broad group of Christian scholars, pastors and educators addressing many of the historical and theological issues talked about in the book and movie.
The Web site is sponsored by http://www.HollywoodJesus.com, a spiritual pop-culture site. The 32 essay writers-who include Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Richard J. Mouw, Gloria Gaither, Tony Campolo, Charles Colson, Darrell L. Bock and George Barna-represent Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant traditions.
