Dove Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated NewSong will make its acting debut Sunday in the CBS made-for-TV movie The Christmas Blessing. The program, which features Neil Patrick Harris and Rebecca Gayheart, is a sequel to 2002's TV movie The Christmas Shoes. Both movies were adapted from Donna VanLiere's books of the same titles (St. Martin's Press). VanLiere also recently penned another follow-up, The Christmas Hope, which released this year. In The Christmas Blessing, the young boy from the original film has grown up and meets a young woman and boy who both, with the help of a Christmas miracle, change his life. The Christmas Shoes was the second-highest-rated made-for-TV movie of the 2002-2003 season, attracting nearly 17 million viewers.
