Larry Downs Sr. and son Rob have left Editorial Unilit in Miami to join Thomas Nelson's staff in Nashville. They are following Larry Downs Jr., former president of Unilit, who left in December to become vice president of Caribe-Betania Editores, Thomas Nelson's Spanish imprint.

Larry Downs Sr., former head of U.S. and general market sales at Unilit, now manages key accounts at Thomas Nelson, focusing on Spanish accounts. Rob Downs, acting vice president at Unilit, is now sales coordinator for foreign licensing, working in Spanish and other foreign languages at Thomas Nelson. Both started at the Nashville publisher in mid-August.

Tami Heim, Thomas Nelson's executive vice president and chief publishing officer, said she is thrilled to welcome two more members of the Downs family to the team.

“They bring enormous experience to the organization, and they are very well respected in the Spanish publishing community,” she said. “Some of our greatest growth as a company last year was in (the) Spanish (market) at Caribe. We see this as the beginning of an opportunity to expand, especially as the Spanish population in the United States continues to increase.”
