'Mystery Shopper' reviews win second Charlie award |

Christian Retailing 's popular anonymous “Mystery Shopper” review of Christian retailing store operations won a top award from the Florida Magazine Association (FMA) this weekend. The regular column took a Silver Award for Best Department - Trade/Technical for the second successive year. The trophy was presented by FMA President-elect Joanne Hodges at the association's annual conference in Orlando. The largest state magazine association in the country, the FMA represents almost 250 magazines. Christian Retailing was also awarded a Bronze Award for Best Editorial/Commentary/Opinion - Trade/Technical for its “No Laughing Matter” editorial on Christian humor. Christian Retailing magazine is published by Strang Communictaions, based in Lake Mary, Fla., which saw three of its other titles also receive FMA awards. Charisma received a Charlie Award for Best Column - Consumer 50,000-plus for editor J. Lee Grady's “First Word,” and a Silver Award for Best In-Depth Reporting - Consumer 50,000-plus for “Behind the Black Veil” by Julian Lukins. Ministries Today received a Silver Award for Best In-Depth Reporting - Trade/Technical for “Feed the Shepherd” by Ken Walker. New Man took a Charlie Award for Best Humor for “Everything I Know About Women” by Dave Meurer and a Silver Award for Best Public Service Coverage for “The Truth About Men and Depression” by James Childerston and Doug Rosenau. |
