Christian retail technology provider Bookstore Manager recently participated in the challenges Lakewood Church in Houston faced in moving to a 16,000-seat facility.

At the new Lakewood Church Central Campus, former site of the Compaq Center, a customized program by Bookstore Manager was needed. The church relocated last week.

"Lakewood Church has been using our point-of-sale software for a long time, but their new building is so large, it required them to have multiple store locations throughout the arena," said Bookstore Manager founder Randy Voorhees. "The challenge was to link six different resource centers to the main store so that all inventory and sales could be tracked and updated as if it was one seamless store operation."

Lakewood, whose senior pastor is best-selling author Joel Osteen, reported nearly 25,060 members as of 2004, according to Outreach magazine's annual report on the largest churches in America.
