the Spanish translation of Rick Warren's blockbuster best-seller, The Purpose-Driven Life, continues to rack up honors in the Hispanic world. The Spanish version, with sales surpassing 1.5 million won three awards Sunday at Expolit.

Published by Editorial Vida (Zondervan), the book captured the Harold Kregel Book of the Year Award 2004 for the second straight year, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame with a Platinum Award for sales of more than 250,000. The awards were based on votes from booksellers within the industry. Una vida con propósito diario devocional (The Purpose-Driven Life Journal) in Spanish was named top gift book.

Casa Creación, Strang Communications' Spanish imprint, had the top original book in Spanish: Una familia conforme al corazón de Dios (A family conforms to God's heart) by Jairo Carbajal Delgado. Casa Creación also was named publisher of the year for the first time.

Other publishers with multiple awards included Caribe-Betania Editores (Thomas Nelson) and Editorial Unilit. Samuel Hernández and Luis Fernández won special awards for impacting the Christian music industry.
