The Christy Advisory Board has announced nominees in six categories for the 2005 Christy Awards honoring Christian fiction. Charles Martin, Cliff Coon and Mark McAllister are the nominees for First Novel; W.Dale Cramer, Jamie Langston Turner and Lisa Samson for General; Jan Beazely/Thom Lemmons, Randall Ingermanson and Bodie & Brock Thoene for Historical; Kristen Heitzmann, Catherine Palmer and Gayle Roper for Romance; Mark Andrew Olson, Terri Blackstock and Debbie Wilson for Suspense; and L.B. Graham, Donita K. Paul and Karen Hancock for Visionary. The sixth annual Christy Awards will be presented Saturday, July 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Denver Marriott City Center. Andy Crouch, author, editorial director for the Christian Vision Project, columnist at Christianity Today and a member of the editorial board of Books & Culture , will give the keynote speech titled “Instant Messages: Fiction in a Virtual World.” Author Jerry Jenkins will emcee the event.
