CBA is replacing CBA Marketplace as its official publication with Aspiring Retail, a new monthly magazine. According to CBA, the magazine, which debuts in June, was developed after two years of research and input from the trade association's advisory councils, board of directors and members. “AspiringRetail will reflect honestly the hard challenges of retail business,” said Kathleen Anderson, CBA's publications manager. “We will not gloss over the problems in our industry, but neither will we dwell on them. We will provide solutions and raise awareness of innovative successes among Christian retailers. This magazine will treat the calling of Christian retail as a holy and sacred trust, not a hopeless pursuit.” Nancy Guthrie, a CBA spokeswoman, said Aspiring Retail is in line with the “reinvention” of the trade association. “Part of the reinvention was solidifying CBA's focus on serving the 'aspiring Christian retailer' and moving from services to solutions. This publication will be strongly solutions-oriented and strongly focused on equipping the aspiring Christian retailer to be successful,” she said.
