Sparrow Records' artist Steven Curtis Chapman received his fifth GRAMMY Award Sunday in the Best Pop/contemporary Gospel Album category. The awards were presented live in Los Angeles and broadcast on CBS. Chapman, honored this year for All Things New, had won four consecutive GRAMMYS for Speechless, For The Sake of the Call, The Great Adventure and The Live Adventure. "This seemed uniquely special tonight (because) of the theme of the album," Chapman said. "I've been fortunate to have won four past GRAMMY Awards, but it's been a few years and albums since. Having taken some new turns with this current project, it feels like a new beginning and is truly 'all things new.' This was a truly great night." Other gospel music winners included Third Day for Wire (Essential Records) in the Best Rock Gospel Album; Randy Travis with Worship & Faith (Word) for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album; Ben Harper & The Blind Boys of Alabama with There Will Be Light (Virgin) for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album; and Smokie Norful with Nothing Without You (EMI Gospel) for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album.
