Bookstore Manager recently introduced advance training online for its P.O.S. software users. The company serves more than 1,200 Christian stores.

The initial introductory training session, "Forgotten Shortcuts for Bookstore Manager Users," has received a strong response.

"Unless users are adequately trained, a computerized point-of-sale system can quickly become a glorified cash register," said Randy Voorhees, founder and CEO of the company. "That is why we've created this solution to the ongoing challenge of effective, inexpensive continuing education for our stores."

"In the past we've relied to a great deal on training sessions at CBA conventions. However, our goal with this new style of training is to meet the needs of retailers who are unable to attend CBA conventions or for whom convention schedules do not allow for attendance at our training sessions," said Voorhees.

While the first session was conducted via a telephone conference call and an online PowerPoint presentation, future sessions will use online audio and video streaming to channel the live training sessions directly to stores via the Internet.
