Thomas Nelson has announced that more than 500,000 of Revolve, its groundbreaking Bible and magazine format for teen girls, have sold in 18 months. Referred to as a "Biblezine" by the publisher, Revolve released in July 2003 and wraps a variety of short stories and advice columns around the New Century version of the New Testament.

Sidebars, feature stories and quizzes in the Biblezines will be updated in Revolve 2, scheduled for a February release.

"There is no doubt about it. Revolve hit a nerve with teen girls who desire God's Word but need a non-intimidating approach to reading the Bible," said Laurie Whaley, Vice President of the New Century Version. "This format is providing a way for the Word of God to go places where traditional black leather Bibles can't go and, in the process, exposing a whole new population to God's message of love, grace and salvation."

Thomas Nelson released Refuel in April 2004 for teen guys and Becoming for women in July 2004. The publisher also released an Old Testament version of Revolve, Revolve: Psalms & Proverbs in October 2004.
