Reggie White, former NFL player and Gospel-music label executive died Sunday at age 43 in Cornelius, N.C. The cause of death was not immediately known, the Associated Press reported. The defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers, who retired in 2000, was an ordained minister (nicknamed “Minister of Defense”) and started the indie Gospel label Big Doggie Records in the early 1990s. He signed new Christian artists that included female trio Touch of Faith, the hip-hop crew YWFC (Young Warriors for the Cause) and rapper Mike E.
White, co-founder of Urban Hope Ministries in Green Bay, Wis., also was the author of Fighting the Good Fight: America's “Minister of Defense” Stands Firm on What It Takes to Win God's Way (Thomas Nelson).
