Steelroots Inc., a company that focuses on positive youth television programming, rolled out the newest division of its ministry last week with the launch of Steelroots Magazine. The magazine was unveiled in Atlanta during the Youth Specialties-sponsored National Youth Workers Convention and will be distributed to Christian retail stores, as well as specialty surf, skate and snow shops across the nation. Steelroots Magazine provides a look into the lives of professional skaters, snowboarders and surfers through articles written about and by the athletes. The magazine, intended for both Christian and secular audiences, uncovers what readers want to know about today's hottest action-sport athletes. Steelroots Magazine was born out of the ministry's desire to show the positive side of the action-sports industry and to provide engaging, healthy and relevant content for youth.
Steelroots will initially distribute 30,000 copies of Steelroots Magazine to retail stores nationwide and will use the publication as a ministry tool during youth events throughout the year. Steelroots also has a line of action-sports and music DVDs, including Steelroots Skate Tour, Vol. 1; Steelroots Snow Tour, Vol. 1; Steelroots Surf Tour, Vol.1 (available January 2005) and Flavor Fest, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2
