StormieOmartian-webStormie Omartian’s Spanish-language books continue to soar to the top of publisher Unilit’s sales charts. Each year, some 200,000 copies of the titles written by the author reach the hands of the public, a number expected to rise with the publication of Choose Love (September, Harvest House Publishers) and its release from Unilit early next year in Spanish.

A former dancer and actress, Omartian shares in her testimony that she was the victim of abuse at the hands of her mentally ill mother. After committing her life to Christ, God led her to write about the topic closest to her heart, prayer. That was the beginning of the best-selling “The Power of a Praying” series. Recently she added to her growing list of books Lead Me, Holy Spirit and Prayer Warrior, both from Harvest House.

“Unilit is indeed blessed with many authors who have been anointed by the Lord and whose books are touching lives,” said David Ecklebarger, president of Unilit. “Anointing does not always translate into sales, but many times it does. Gary Chapman's ‘The Five Love Languages’ series is an example. Millions of Hispanic readers and their loved ones have had relationships transformed by his titles. Stormie Omartian is another anointed author whose books on the power of prayer have unleashed and channeled the power of heaven, as readers have learned how to effectively pray for loved ones.”

In the last six years, Unilit has seen sales of more than 1 million copies of Omartian’s books.

“Reading Stormie’s books is like talking to your best friend,” said Mariana Tafura, Unilit sales director for Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean. “When you’re done, you feel like you’ve been sharing a cup of coffee with her, and you always leave with a word of wisdom that will help you overcome any situation.”
