A book of life-after-death testimonies is seeing a second life of its own following the success of last year’s unexpected best-seller, Heaven Is for Real.

The Thomas Nelson title telling of young Colton Burpo’s account of visiting heaven—which has sold more than 6 million copies since its November 2010 release—has prompted interest in Faye Aldridge’s Real Messages From Heaven.

Released in December by Destiny Image Publishers, the book tells of Aldridge’s experience in hearing from her husband, Burke, after his death and gathers other testimonies from around the world.

Aldridge originally self-published the book as A Fax From Heaven before it was acquired by Destiny Image. She spoke about the book to retailers and suppliers last night at the celebration dinner opening Christian Trade Association International’s (CTAI) Marketsquare International at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel Atlanta Airport in Atlanta.

With a cover stating “These stories offer undeniable proof of life after death,” the Destiny Image edition has seen “tremendous interest from the bookstores,” said National & International Sales Manager Mary Moore.

Intended to offer comfort to those who have lost a loved one, the book includes a presentation page that can be inscribed when it is given as a gift and a closing prayer of salvation.

At last night’s event, sponsored by Destiny Image, Aldridge recounted how her husband had said before he died that he would send her a fax from heaven. Later, two doctors at the hospital told how Burke Aldridge had appeared to them after he had died to say that he was all right—and they faxed their written accounts to his widow.

“God allowed Burke to send his message,” she said. Sharing her experience with others, Aldridge had then gathered other similar accounts that spoke of “His remarkable demonstration of love and hope and power,” she said.

Running through Jan. 20 and twinned with the Inspirational Value Book Show, the CTAI event offers a winter buying venue for overseas retailers and distributors. Around 40 exhibitors are taking part.
