Ingram Publisher Services (IPS)--Ingram Book Group's distribution, sales and marketing services for publishers--has announced an agreement to distribute Zondervan products in a move to help better serve general-market stores.

IPS will begin distribution to Zondervan's field sales, gift and special market segments starting Nov. 1. Zondervan spokesperson Tara Powers told Christian Retailing that the company had provided "excellent service to independent CBA bookstores, but we recognized that we were underserving the independent ABA (American Booksellers Association) bookstores."

"This distribution agreement was made to better serve this important segment, and to help the independent ABA bookseller grow their religion category with the right product mix," she said. "This agreement will serve to expand our current sales and distribution efforts."

IPS Vice President and General Manager Mark Ouimet added: "Using Ingram solutions, Zondervan is able to focus their resources on what they do best, content creation, and Ingram will take care of everything in between-delivering the content to its ultimate destination using our integrated suite of offerings."

Powers said that there will be no staff changes as the agreement will complement the efforts of Zondervan's current sales and distribution team. "Zondervan has enjoyed a long and positive relationship with Ingram, and this is an extension of our partnership with them," she said. "We are confident their team has the right experience and know-how to help us achieve our goal of better serving independent ABA booksellers."
