Big Idea has expanded licensing for its popular VeggieTales brand, introducing a new crop of merchandise.

The company recently inked deals with several new licensing partners, including confectionery products from Frankford Candy & Chocolate Co., play ball and toy merchandise from Hedstrom, and Easter candy baskets and gift sets from Sherwood Brands. The new products will hit retail shelves starting this spring, Big Idea officials said.

Big Idea also recently added licensing partnerships with Enesco and its Gund and Gregg Gift divisions (plush toys and gifts); ScrollMotion (digital books); Carpets For Kids (area rugs); Kidlandia (personalized maps); Find It Games (games); and Trace Designs (wall murals).

Additionally, VeggieTales has been licensed to ConAgra Foods (fruit snacks), DaySpring (cards & calendars), Bendon Publishing International (coloring and activity books), Cranston (fabrics) and Northwest Bedding Co. (bedding and outerwear).

"Our always-expanding licensing and merchandising program continues to provide us with a wonderful opportunity to bring the enduring values and wholesome entertainment of Big Idea and our VeggieTales series to an even wider audience," said Brian Mitchell, director of marketing and licensing for Big Idea. "We are excited to share the VeggieTales messages through these new products that have popular appeal to children and families."
