provident-label-groupProvident Music Group announced Thursday the hiring of Brian Dishon as vice president of marketing and Jeff Cruz as vice president of promotions for Provident Label Group (PLG). Dishon and Cruz will oversee rosters on the Essential Records, Reunion Records and Beach Street Records imprints, and will begin their new roles April 4.

Dishon returns to Provident after a four-year term as multi-site ministries director for Cross Point Church in Nashville. During his previous employment at Provident, Dishon led the label group’s promotions team and served as vice president of marketing.

Brunstetter’s The Restoration (Shiloh Run Press/Barbour Publishing) earned the No. 1 spot on both the February Publishers Weekly Religion Fiction best-seller list and on the March Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) list. The Restoration is the conclusion of Brunstetter’s "Prairie State Friends" trilogy.

ministry-brandsChristian software company Ministry Brands announced today it has acquired ACTIVE Network's faith division, including the Fellowship One software product. Fellowship One provides a suite of programs to integrate church administrative functions. By acquiring ACTIVE’s faith division, Ministry Brands adds more than 4,500 churches to its portfolio.

The acquisition represents strategic decisions by both companies. For Ministry Brands, the acquisition is part of a larger strategy to serve churches with streamlined, comprehensive technology, allowing pastors, other church leaders and administrators to focus on ministry.  For ACTIVE, the divestiture will allow ACTIVE to focus on core competencies and customers in the sports, communities and outdoors markets.

love-riot-albumNewsboys’ latest album, Love Riot (Fair Trade Services), debuted atop multiple charts following its March 4 release, marking one of the biggest sales weeks for a Christian artist to date this year.

The album bowed at No. 1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Christian Digital Albums chart, No. 1 on iTunes’ Christian Top Albums chart and in the Top 10 on iTunes’ overall Top Albums chart. In addition, Love Riot debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Top 200.

Oasis, Tyndale partner on ‘Africa Study Bible’ Print Email

africa-study-bibleMajor Christian organizations, led by Oasis International, are joining together to launch the Africa Study Bible (ASB), the first study Bible developed by Africans for Africans. The new study Bible was born out of a six-year, cross-continental effort.

To support the effort, Oasis is partnering with Tyndale House Publishers to create the study Bible. Other participants include Cru/Jesus Film, Saddleback Church, Willow Creek and Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit, International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, Scripture Union, American Bible Society, Compassion, Africa Leadership, TransWorld Radio, Moody Radio, The Center for Early African Christianity, Publications pour la Jeunesse Africane, MMD Global, The Livingstone Corp., InSight Books, Urban Ministries Inc. and the Association of Evangelicals in Africa.
