David C Cook hires new senior director of marketing Print Email

TimClose-webDavid C Cook has appointed industry veteran Tim Close as senior director of marketing, joining the trade book team, effective Sept. 8.

Close comes to Cook with a wealth of experience in marketing and publishing, with expertise in new product development, digital marketing technology and leading marketing teams in strategic and successful campaigns.

“I am truly excited to continue my publishing career with David C Cook,” Close said. “This ministry not only brings our authors outstanding publishing expertise, but also reaches Christians across the globe with quality resources. It's a great team and I'm blessed to play a small part in helping to extend the ministry reach.”

Vice President of Marketing Ginia Hairston Croker is pleased to have Close on board.

“Tim has over 20 years of marketing experience and will be a tremendous asset to our organization,” Croker said. “Tim will be reporting to me, and in this important role, he will be responsible for developing marketing strategies for our books and overseeing day-to-day marketing activities.”

Close received his bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA. He previously served as CEO at CrowdScribed, CEO at Douglas Shaw & Associates, senior vice president at Zondervan, vice president of marketing and communications at Serta and interim head of marketing at Ignite USA. He has relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where David C Cook is headquartered, from Lake Zurich, Illinois.
