Christian Retail Offers for the week of Jan. 5

Resources for making good on New Year's resolutions were a focus for Christian Book Distributors, encouraging shoppers

to "renew your focus in 2009" with offers related to fitness, finances, family life and spiritual life.

Among the cut-price books were Ellie Kay's Living Rich for Less: Create the Lifestyle You Want by Giving, Saving, and Spending Smart (WaterBrook Press) available for $12.99 instead of $16.99, and Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover, Revised and Updated (Thomas Nelson), down from $24.99 to $16.99.

Mardel Christian & Education Supply presented its "Top 8 of 2008" in music, books and Bibles. Items included Third Day's Revolution and William P. Young's The Shack each for $9.99, and The Chronological Study Bible from Thomas Nelson reduced from $44.99 to $34.99.

LifeWay Christian Stores' New Year catalog included a health focus, with Billy Banks' Tae Bo: The Strength Within DVD reduced by 65% to $5. The catalog also included a two-week Bible sale, through Jan. 10, with 50% off editions including Charles Stanley's Life Principles Daily Bible for $9.99.

Family Christian Stores' catalog featured an after-Christmas clearance sale with 75% off select Prayer Circle Friends products. Among the Books of the Month available at 40% off was Dave Ramsey's The Money Answer Book, reduced to $7.99.
