Harvest House Publishers is tackling difficult issues families face with two hardcover gift books, both releasing in January. Prayers of Comfort for Those Who Hurt by Hope Lyda ($12.99) and When Someone You Love Has Cancer by Cecil Murphey ($10.99) each offer paintings, prayers and verses.

More on families in crisis: Kerusso donated almost 20,000 T-shirts imprinted with Christian messages and designs to the Gulf Coast victims of Hurricane Ike that made landfall in Texas as a Category 2 storm in September. Working with Lakewood Church in Houston, Kerusso’s efforts benefitted Convoy of Hope, a national charity headquartered in Springfield, Mo., with 12,000 shirts donated and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, with 6,000 shirts donated.

Barbour Publishing is expanding its line of perpetual calendars with six new titles for 2009. Topics cover nurses, those who love the outdoors, humor for women, great date ideas, spiritual refreshment for women and devotionals for married couples. The calendars retail for $7.97 and release in January.

Tapestry Productions, featuring the artwork of Ron DiCianni, Michael Dudash, Thomas Blackshear and Chris Hopkins, is expanding its “Wall of Inspiration Collection” for 2009. The line initially released in spring 2008 and includes self-framing wall décor for less than $100 that is more than 2 square feet in size.

The makers of Suzy’s Zoo Greeting Cards, ELH Enterprises, have partnered with artist Dona Gelsinger to create an exclusive greeting card line titled “Little Drops of Sunshine.” Launched this month with 24 cards, it features classic everyday sentiments including birthday, new baby and thank you. The line of 4-by-6-inch cards retail for $2.95. Both a countertop and floor display are available.
