Thomas Nelson and digital Bible maker Immersion Digital have launched three new apps for the iPhone and iPad, which pairs the New King James Version (NKJV) Bible with the award-winning Glo Bible's engine.

Available in the U.S. and Canada, the NKJV Study Bible, The MacArthur Study Bible and the NKJV Bible apps feature 360-degree virtual tours, photos, animated maps, videos, social-networking features and Bible-reading plans.

"In this digital age with two entire generations born in a digital world, it is crucial to have our best Bible translations and study Bibles in digital format, not by merely mimicking paper, but by exploiting the full potential of digital media to communicate the Bible in new and engaging ways," said Nelson Saba, founder and CEO of Immersion Digital. "The NKJV and its study Bibles are hallmarks favored by millions of readers."

Immersion's Glo was voted best in the Bible category in the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's annual Christian Book Awards in 2010. The Glo Bible is published by Zondervan, now a sister company to Nelson under the HarperCollins umbrella.

"The introduction of these new NKJV powered by Glo Bible apps will give current and future generations the ability to experience God's Word in ways they never have before," said Gary Davidson, Thomas Nelson senior vice president and Bible group publisher. "The potential for expanding Bible readership and sharing scripture through these apps is amazing, and we are thankful that our partnership with Immersion Digital is making this possible."

The app's complimentary download will include six interactive Bible stories, six coloring pages and a game. Additional story packs will be available for $1.99, and will include six new stories, coloring pages and games.
