Christian retail stores are being offered a free marketing tool to help drive traffic and boost their Christmas sales.

A special digital magazine celebrating the power of inspirational fiction is being made available for them to send to shoppers.

Produced by Christian Retailing, the holiday edition of the magazine’s Christian Book Reader supplement features leading Christian fiction writers sharing some of their personal Christmas memories and telling of what inspires them to write. Terri Blackstock, Liz Curtis Higgs and Melody Carlson are among the authors who are spotlighted.

The supplement includes a guide to buying Christian fiction for family and friends, details of some of the big new releases and an article by Chris Fabry—whose Almost Heaven (Tyndale House Publishers) won two top Christian fiction awards this year—on the impact of inspirational fiction.

The digital guide also includes a link to CBA’s store locator, helping readers find their nearest Christian retail store.

“It’s the time of year when we all look forward to Christmas, revisiting favorite holiday movies and books, and so are are reminded of the impact of a great story,” said Christian Retailing Editor Andy Butcher. “There’s no better time to celebrate and promote the power of Christian fiction to change lives, and with the category continuing to grow and expand, there’s a book to suit just about every kind of reader.”

Retailers are invited to email or tweet details of Christian Book Reader: A Christmas shopper’s guide to Christian fiction to customers and post details of the publication at their website and Facebook page. Click here to see the magazine.
