LifeWay Christian Stores has named Jan Watkins, who runs the chain's outlet in Tukwila, Wash., as 2010 Manager of the Year.

Watkins was honored Oct. 11 during the awards banquet of the National Sales Meeting, an annual event for all LifeWay store managers and leadership, held at the LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center in Ridgecrest, N.C.

LifeWay Christian Resources Vice President Mark Scott said Watkins is "a servant leader with a passion for placing biblical solutions in the hands of customers."

Serving in the Northwest is "a calling," Watkins said, pointing out that Washington and Oregon represent the most unchurched area of the country. "There is such a need in that area of the country for the sound biblical solutions that LifeWay provides," said Watkins, who began working for LifeWay in 1997. "There are people searching for answers, for truth, and we view our ministry as being an oasis of truth."

Owned and operated by Nashville-based LifeWay Christian Resources, LifeWay Christian Stores has 163 locations nationwide.
