‘Blessed & Cursed’ in Christian stores

A modern retelling of the biblical story of Saul and David, Blessed & Cursed was recently released on DVD by Tyscot Entertainment and distributed to Christian retail by Word Distribution.

The film stars gospel singer Deitrick Haddon as Dwight Hawkins, a gifted young man who is searching for his purpose. Against his girlfriend's advice, he takes a position as minister of music, but Hawkins finds himself entangled in a scheme of jealousy and betrayal orchestrated by the church's bishop.

The film also features Sheryl Lee Ralph (Sister Act II, Moesha), Drew Sidora (Step Up, White Chicks) and gospel music stars, including Karen Clark Sheard, Rance Allen, Kierra "Kiki" Sheard, Bobby Jones and Damita Haddon.
