Christian retailing industry veteran Marcos Perez has been promoted to vice president of sales for Strang Communications' Book Group, effective Jan. 6.

As vice president of sales, Perez will provide leadership, head day-to-day operations of book group sales and meet divisional objectives as well as oversee general market, mass market, Christian market, international, church and ministry sales of books by Charisma House, FrontLine, Realms, Siloam, Excel Books, Creation House and Casa Creación.

"Marcos brings creativity, excitement and leadership to our book group," said Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of Strang Communications' Book Group. "This move demonstrates our strategic plan to further growth in our book group and develop new sales channels; we expect Marcos to bring us to even higher levels."

Perez, a 10-year employee of Strang Communications, was formerly director of sales for the book group. Previously he was advertising director in its consumer magazine division.

"The rapidly changing landscape of the Christian products industry presents many challenges in light of the global economy, but opportunities always surround times like this. I look forward to furthering the trend of growth in our book division," Perez said. "Our titles have international reach, and I'm thrilled to play a part in increasing our market share."

Strang Book Group has published several New York Times best-selling books, including Fasting by Jentezen Franklin, The Seven Pillars of Health by Don Colbert, M.D., 23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese, The Maker's Diet by Jordan Rubin and numerous Publishers Weekly and USA Today best-sellers.
