Christian Visionary Awards recognize artists

Tammy Trent, Natalie Grant, MercyMe, Kirk Franklin and Brandon Heath were among the winners of the recent Christian Music Hall of Fame 2009 Visionary Awards Show. The event was held Nov. 14 at First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas, and was hosted by Justin Fennell and Chonda Pierce.

The Hall of Fame inductees included dcTalk, Yolanda Adams, Larnelle Harris and Crystal Gayle, with a posthumous award going to the late June Carter Cash.

Inductees in the Hall of Fame and winners for the Visionary Awards were nominated by a peer group consisting of approximately 4,800 members, according to organizers. The Christian Music Hall of Fame honors those who have spent their lives celebrating Christ through music.
