Casting Crowns' 'World' sets sales record

GRAMMY Award-winning group Casting Crowns has set a sales record for the highest debut in Christian music in SoundScan's history with Until the While World Hears (Beach Street Records/Provident-Integrity Distribution).

Released Nov. 17, the band's fourth studio album sold more than 167,000 copies its first week, making it No. 1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Current Contemporary Christian album chart and No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

The album's title track spent a third week at No. 1 on Billboard's AC Indicator for the week of Nov. 16. The song "Until the Whole World Hears" was the ninth career chart-topping tune for the band on Billboard's AC Indicator list, according to Provident Label Group.

Casting Crowns is currently on the 41-city Until the Whole World Hears Tour with Matt Redman.
