altMultiple GRAMMY Award and Dove Award winner Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, were recently recognized by the Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) for their work with orphans around the world.

As founders of the orphan ministry Show Hope, the Chapmans were chosen to receive CHF's Children's Champion Award. The couple was honored April 26 during the Children's Hunger Fund Celebration Banquet, held at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif. Mary Beth Chapman was on hand to accept the award.

The Children's Champion Award is given to those who have used their positions of influence in government, business and charity to ensure that children receive hope against the odds.

"A key portion of CHF's programs provide support for orphans around the world," said CHF President Dave Phillips. "It seemed only natural to honor ... the Chapmans for their compassionate care of orphans. We are like-minded in our passion to care for the needs of children in crisis."

Also honored at the banquet was Focus on the Family President Jim Daly. The ceremony was emceed by Francis Chan, pastor and author of Crazy Love (David C. Cook).
