altBest-selling author Jentezen Franklin turns up in a different role, next month.

The pastor of Free Chapel church in Gainesville, Ga., is a featured performer on the new CD release, Power of the Cross (Integrity Music/Provident-Integrity Distribution), a live recording of the multicultural congregation.

The album features Free Chapel's worship leader Ricardo Sanchez, plus guest vocalist and GRAMMY Award-winner Israel Houghton. All are backed by the church's choir, band and praise team as they focus on thematic songs tied to the sacrifice and salvation found in the cross of Calvary.

Sanchez and Houghton, who appear throughout the project, also co-produced the CD and wrote most of the songs for the 11-track project, including the anthemic title track. Franklin sings the Andraé Crouch classic "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" and plays a sax solo.

"I remember years ago sitting in my office, jotting down my dreams for the ministry of Free Chapel," he said. "I dreamed for a music ministry that would draw people into God's presence to worship Him and be refreshed ... for a ministry that would influence the nations."
