CottageGarden.Web2Cottage Garden Collections (CG) adopted two families to help during the Christmas season, in keeping with its annual tradition.

“This all started about eight years ago when the staff was trying to think of a gift to give me,” explained Mark Timm, Cottage Garden’s president. “The idea was then born to give a gift on my behalf to a needy family. I was more touched by this than any company gift I had ever been given.”

This past Christmas, Cottage Garden—a subsidiary of Roman known for its music boxes and musical frames—raised $610 to buy gifts for three children who otherwise would not have received any gifts for the holiday.

“Cottage Garden cares about our community; we live here, our kids go to school here, and there are families that are not as fortunate as we are,” Timm said of the Bainbridge, Ind., community. “The money came from CG family members donating money and time for this great cause.”

The company also held a charity auction, and all proceeds went to help local needy families.

“When I saw the amount of items they were able to buy for the money raised, I was in shock,” said Timm. “They made deals with local retailers and totally filled the back end of a truck with coats, gloves, hats and lots of great toys. It was the highlight of our Christmas party.”
