CarolAwardAs part of an ongoing effort to show appreciation for all branches of the CBA publishing, distribution and retail industry, American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) will play several supportive roles at CBA’s 2014 International Christian Retail Show (ICRS).

ACFW will serve as the host of CBA’s Christian Fiction Trends Workshop: Celebrating Story, to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center on Tuesday afternoon, June 24. This ticketed event for retailers will offer attendees a wide range of perspectives on current Christian fiction trends and what that can mean for retailers; insights from the heart of authors; practical information for boosting fiction sales; and a celebration of story and its impact. The event includes an author panel discussing specific fiction trends, time for authors and retailers to enjoy face-to-face conversations, door prizes and gift bags of autographed books from every participating author for every attending retailer.

On Monday, June 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the media room, ACFW will host a press conference announcing the Carol Award finalists for 2014 as well as the 2014 ACFW Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient. Carol Johnson—the Christian fiction pioneering editor in whose honor the award is named—will open the press conference with comments from her experience working in Christian fiction publishing.

ACFW will have a kiosk presence throughout the show at booth 913, where representatives are invited to interact with retailers and authors, gather insights about retailer challenges and share free resources and ideas to help meet those challenges.

“It’s an honor to show our support of Christian retailing at ICRS,” said ACFW CEO Colleen Coble. “Many authors began their journeys captured by books they found at a Christian bookstore. Many author/reader connections began there, too. ACFW looks forward to interacting with retailers at ICRS.”
