Big Idea is releasing VeggieTales: It's A Meaningful Life in Christian retail stores Saturday, Oct. 2, three days ahead of the general market.

The latest VeggieTales parody parable re-imagines the Jimmy Stewart classic It's a Wonderful Life, with Larry the Cucumber wondering what might have happened if injury had not prevented him from playing in the big Salad Bowl football game.

"This episode is based on Jeremiah 29:11, which says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,'" said Greg Fritz, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Big Idea. "This title takes parents and children on a journey that explores how we can be content in the plans that God has for our lives--and helps us discover the beauty of how our lives affect those around us."

The 50-minute program, which retails for $14.99, features a new song by Steven Curtis Chapman, "Meant To Be," as well as a new Silly Song, "Goodnight Junior." To promote the video, Big Idea will host "Family Fun Nite" events in October and November at more than 2,000 churches nationwide to screen It's a Meaningful Life.
