Released at the beginning of the busiest wedding and anniversary season of the year, The Catholic Gift Bible (978-0-061-80815-9, $14.99) from HarperOne is the first gift and award Bible to be made available in the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV).

The edition was specially designed for personal use or gift-giving for landmark celebrations, and created in response to demand from Catholic readers for a Bible to present to parents, grandparents, friends and parishes to mark events including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, confirmations and first communions.

Though there are more than 65 million Catholics in the U.S., the Catholic market is underserved with Bibles. The new gift edition is also intended to help in the realization of Pope Benedict XVI’s declared wish that Catholics would “rediscover the importance of the Word of God in the life of every Christian, and even every civil community, every ecclesial community.”

Special features of the Bible include an introduction to the Catholic spiritual life and to every book of the Bible; popular profiles of Bible heroes, key Bible terms and guides for prayer; full-color presentation pages for dedication and recording of family history; and 16 pages of Bible maps. There is also a concordance for finding key verses.

The Catholic Gift Bible’s 1,568 pages are presented in CatDurable, leather-like binding and have a satin ribbon marker.
