Speaking Louder Than Before (BEC Recordings/EMI CMG Distribution) comes out late next month, two years since his last release. Some of the changes he has experienced since then "really got started in my heart," he said. "I got on my face, and that's where everything starts. You get distracted building your own kingdom."

Now 30, Camp found his new focus as everything—for the first time in almost a decade—started to settle in his life. After his first wife died a little more than seven years ago, he landed a record deal, re-married and had two daughters, all while touring and making music.

Having some stability and a little time to breathe seems to have infused new life in Camp, and this latest album—a collection of mostly upbeat pop-rock songs—is the perfect "driving album," he said.

But more than a string of catchy tunes, Camp said he has put together a collection of scripturally based songs that drive home a point: it takes both good works and good news to faithfully live out the gospel.

"People will go out there and share, but there's no love, and this wall gets put up. And then there are those people that will go out with love, but there's no truth—they don't want to offend anybody. So there's a balance (needed) there," Camp said.
