Today is the last day for suppliers to receive the Retailers Choice Awards early-bird discount. All entries postmarked or nomination forms faxed by midnight Feb. 1 are eligible to receive a sixth nomination free for every five products nominated. That's a savings of $50. For the seventh year, the best products in the industry will be nominated by suppliers, then voted on by retailers. Awards will be handed out in 30 categories for the best books, music, gifts and videos/DVDs in the Christian industry. Several new categories are being introduced for the 2007 awards, reflecting the ongoing changes in the market. The 30 categories will include Audiobooks and Bible Reference/Bible Studies for the first time. Increasingly recognized as an important Christian retailer endorsement of new Christian products, the Retailers Choice Awards attracted a record 300-plus nominations from book, music, video/DVD and gift suppliers last year. Nominations cost $50, with full competition details appearing in the Feb. 12 issue of Christian Retailing and online at www.retailerschoiceawards.com. Retailers will vote for their favorite products in May, with the winners to be announced during the International Christian Retail Show in Atlanta, in July.
