Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee Roy "Pop" Lewis of the group The Lewis Family (Daywind) passed away Tuesday at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, Ga. He was 98.

Pop was honored during his career with the Lifetime Achievement Award from SGN Scoops magazine and was the subject of a portrait the Southern Gospel Music Association commissioned in 2001, which featured Pop as the patriarch of four generations of gospel music artists. He is best remembered for the song "Just One Rose Will Do."

His funeral will be held today at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Ga.

Lewis is survived by seven of his eight children. After 77 years of marriage, Pauline "Mom" Lewis died last year at age 92.
