Progressive rock band Leeland's single “Sound of Melodies” from the group's debut album jumped from No. 17 to No. 6 last week on Japan Radio's international chart, according to the band's label. Leeland's Sound of Melodies (Essential Records, Provident-Integrity) was recently released in Japan, where the group interviewed with MTV Japan and In Rock Magazine. The four-member band also played a sold-out concert at Harajuku Astro Hall in Tokyo.
“We are very excited about what is happening with our music in Japan,” said guitarist and lead vocalist Leeland Mooring. “People told us after the concert how they loved our melodies and that there was a sort of healing in the music.”
