Derek Webb's free music program has closed after seeing more than 80,000 downloads of his Mockingbird album (INO Records). The Web site, FreeDerekWebb.com, was put up in a bid to make Webb's music available for free to anyone.

“This has certainly been an unexpected and overwhelming response to what started as little more than a grand experiment,” Webb said. His next release will be available in stores in May 2007 through INO.
