Country artist Alan Jackson's recent gospel release, Precious Memories, was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), to mark 1,000,000 units sold. The artist's ACR/Arista Nashville album was released to the Christian market by Provident-Integrity Distribution.

The album, recorded as a gift for Jackson's mother, became the only gospel recording in history to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, and Jackson is the first country artist ever to debut an album of all-spiritual material at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums and Top Christian & Gospel Albums charts. He also is the first artist to ever top all three charts at once. Precious Memories has spent 19 of its 25 chart weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, and is the only Platinum-certified country gospel disc by a solo artist in SoundScan history.
