Jerry Falwell: His Life and Legacy

, the official biography of the late pastor written by his wife, Macel, will release from Howard Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, on May 13, two days before the first anniversary of his death.

Falwell, the nationally known pastor and founder of The Moral Majority, was married to Macel for 49 years. In the book she will give insights into her husband's private and public life, including his friendship with President Ronald Reagan and his relationship with Hustler Magazine founder Larry Flynt. She will be appearing on several national talk shows, including Good Morning America, to promote the book.

"There have been many stories told about my husband through the years, however this is a story that has never been told," Macel Falwell said. "I spent nearly 50 years married to this man, and I can assure you that there is far more to Jerry Falwell than what you may have heard or read elsewhere."
