David C. Cook has signed pastor and speaker Francis Chan to a multi-book deal, company officials said. Chan's first book, Crux: An Essential Point Requiring Resolution, will be released May 2008.

Pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, Calif., and president of Eternity Bible College, Chan has a growing speaking platform, including upcoming engagements at Catalyst, Youth Specialties, Passion conferences and the Orange Conference, according to David C. Cook.

Trade Book Publisher Don Pape said Chan's "message of discipleship is central to who we are at David C. Cook. It was my college-age son who first introduced me to Francis saying, 'Dad, you gotta hear this guy!' I can hardly wait to introduce Francis to a whole new generation of Christ followers."
